So does that mean that the only people remaining to run the project are
those who are focusing on flood protection and water supplies, instead of
restoring the ecosystem? Doesn't the enabling legislation (I thought
Congress had actually appropriated money for this project) mandate that
the purpose is to restore the ecosystem? Sitting here at the opposite
corner of the country, maybe none of us know enough about the project or
are in a position to do anything, but I'd sure like to know more. It was
heartening to hear that the administration was going to act to save this
precious area, but now it's painful to hear that the project seems to be
going awry. Does anyone know more?
