Reply to 97-01-02, birder7 at yahoo.com (Tim Gronseth), "Inviting flames":

I see here we have a late 20th century pause suddenly arising here amidst the
deep cerebral Tweeters birding discussion action. Allow me to toss on the
proverbial 'Yule Log' now if I may be so bold.

My!-Oh!-My!, My Goodness!!, Mr. birder7 at yahoo.com (Tim Gronseth)!! Are we
being anal retentive here or what?!! LOL!!! I hope to God that you pulled
this *absolutely fascinating* data tidbit out of the Tweeters computer
listserv data records and haven't just been just sitting around on your duff
all these years meticulously bean counting and creating individual files for
everyone. Hmmm... I notice that YOU are not even listed! Tsk-tsk-tsk! You
know what happens when one lives in glass houses '-)

So here now, for your enjoyment and amusement, and in keeping with being the
anal retentive creature that I am myself(!), I have perused the list and put
together a compilation of the 'winners' in the Tweeters Hall of Flame,
arranged by centurial thresholds; --- sounds a bit like a PBS pledge drive
doesn't it :-)) followed by some summarizing figures. If I overlooked anyone
that should have been included in the 100+ list, I apologize :-))

Everyone else

Twenty-eight (28) members made the 'grade', amounting to ONLY 5,608 postings
to Tweeters out of 25,039 since Wed Apr 19 06:37:52 1995 when Mr.
birder7 at yahoo.com (Tim Gronseth) sat down to the HIS computer to keep careful
tabs on these matters. That amounts to ONLY 22.398% of the total. So, relax
Michael, Tom, and all the rest of you 'exclusive' members in the Top 28;
that's not so bad! Now, aren't you all so relieved and glad that I took time
out of *my* bizzy bizzy schedule and did all this? :-)))

So now, Mr. birder7 at yahoo.com (Tim Gronseth), your next assignment is to
determine which Tweetster has greatest diarrhea of the fingers. You will need
to go back and count each and every 'creative' keystroke put to the screen by
each individual member and post this information plus the Tweeters list grand
total, just like you did for the simple list postings totals. Since you have
gotten the jump on this matter already and since it's obviously so well in
hand, this should be a rather simple task. So, um, ...oh no rush... first
thing in the morning will be fine :-)). BTW, this keystroke tally is *not* to
include the mindless copy/paste reposting stuff attached to replies. That is
yet another category and your additional assignment as well -- the member
names and number of times a member reposts verbatim an entire post of another
Tweetster in a reply.

To Michael Price and Tom Foote, *CONGRATULATIONS!!* We need to have an
'awards' ceremony or something!! In lieu of a more formal award (THE GOLDEN
TWEETIE BIRD, of course!), and as an interim substitute, may I invite you to
review this website (again), or if you missed it the first time around, go
there *NOW!*
