These eagles. I wonder if this isn't a Baldie's equivalent to the Merlin's
'passerine disguise' undulant flight, the theory being: if I swim around
long enough, the geese will think I'm just another goose and one will come
close enough to grab.

Little known that a floating Bald Eagle can not only swim well (watched one
diving repeatedly on a Western Grebe for no result, then bash right into the
water and do an arthritic-looking butterfly stroke paralleling the Iona
North Jetty for nearly a kilometer at Iona Island a couple of years ago,
apparently just for the hell of it), but can also rise from the water almost
as vertically as a Mallard as soon as they feel like it.
