Dear Tweeters:
I just came from seeing the Ross's Goose near Keyport,WA.It is an
adult in flock of domestic geese. The directions are as follows: From
Poulsbo drive south on Viking Way until you reach state highway 308 (about
2 miles SOUTH of Poulsbo), then turn left at Highway 308(the Arco gas
station is a good landmark). Follow Highway 308 until you come to VIRGINIA
LOOP RD. (the second left turn from the gas station).Drive about 1/4 mile
NORTH on Virginia Loop Rd..On the right there will a barn with a large
farm pond with lots of domestic waterfowl in it that is visible from the
road. Either scan from the road or pull up the driveway on the right to
the house. The woman that lives there is willing to have birders come
visit.
And if you are lucky she will feed the domestic geese and the Ross's
giving you point blank views. The bird has been there since late August
and is NOT one of her pets.
