Hi Tweets,

Between 10:30 and 12:30 today, Richard Rowlett and I worked a good piece
of the farmland located at the s.e. corner of Woodinville-Duvall Road
and West Snoqualmie Valley Rd. We did not see the Clay-colored Sparrow
seen there a couple of days ago. But we did relocate the sparrow flock
that I had seen the day before, well out into the farmers field along a
creek at a position located maybe 400 yards east of W. Snoqualmie Valley
Road and about 200 yards south of Woodinville-Duvall Road. This land is
not fenced or posted and we assumed it was 'OK' to walk out there. In
the flock today were numerous juncoes, Golden-crowned Sparrows and Song
Sparrows, several Spotted Towhees, PLUS one *Slate-colored Junco*, two
(both of yesterday's?) White-throated Sparrows, and one Lincoln's
Sparrow (a glorious look) in addition to one or two White-crowned
Sparrows and a Fox Sparrow.

Most of the birds eventually flew over to the line of brush bordering
Woodinville-Duvall Road (just east of WSV Rd) so the flock evidently
moves around quite a bit.

We later went by North Seattle and were successful in finding the Blue
Jay...within about 5 minutes of getting out of the car! We heard it
call first (as I recall, Richard exclaimed 'that's it!' before the jay
finished uttering its short whining call). We soon got a good look at
it. It was in the block of homes east of Roosevelt near the
intersection of Roosevelt and 105th/106th and was associating with at
least one Steller's Jay.

Spoiled rotten, we zipped over to Bellevue to relocate the Scrub-Jay -
no luck but then we did not work at it hard.

All in all it was a nice outing even though we came up empty on the
Clay-colored.
