As long as we're on the subject, there was something I wanted to throw out.
One of the mailing lists I'm on automatically tacks on the following message
at the end of all posts:

--This always seemed like a good idea to me. Cuts down on the inevitable
"unsubscribe me" posts made to lists, as well as any other common list
commands that get confused.

Of course, the value of this would need to be weighed against the slightly
inflated size of posts, which affects those accessing their email by modem,
especially slow modems.
