With Mac eudora, option-command-r (or option-select Reply to All from the
menu) replies to both the individual and the group. You can also change
this to the default in the 'Replying' Settings panel. If you're on a pc,
maybe alt-control would do it, or else look in the shortcuts help. I
haven't found a way yet to have Eudora reply only to the list without
remembering to delete the individual by hand.

As primarily a lurker wanting to see replies to even the most basic
questions in order to learn something, I very much dislike the change. The
few lists that I'm on that do it this way (reply-to-individual-by-default
is _not_ a standard as someone stated) at best end up with replies to the
list being delayed by hours or days as someone says, 'oops, I guess I
forgot to cc this to the list'. And that's from the ones who noticed they
forgot; no telling how many never notice. I also see way too much 'thanks
for the answers everyone!', when nary an answer appeared on the list, so
you have to send to that person and ask for copies, and find out, 'gee, too
late, I already deleted them'. If you hear back at all. grr.

Oh yes, for those asking questions, it's a toss-up whether you'll be
flooded with 83 identical simple answers, or never hear back from anyone at
all; since no-one else can see if a response has already been sent, Murphy
will ensure that if it's a trivial response, 83 people will take the time
to tell you, but if needs a more complex response, those same 83 people
will all assume someone else already told you :-).
