Hi Folks - A couple of questions were raised by out of state/out of
country birders who asked about license requirements if they only
planned to visit posted Washington state lands once or twice a year. I
asked the licensing office downstairs, and yes, you still need a license,
or you risk a fine if approached by a conservation officer and you can't
produce one. But, they said you could purchase the cheaper 1-day
Gamefish Non-resident license for $7, or the 3-day Foodfish
Resident/Non-resident license for $5, even if you have never fished in
your life, and never intend to do so! And thanks to the other people who
posted info on the various places to purchase licenses, and for the
clarification that all members of a group (i.e. all occupants of a vehicle)
over the age of 16 must have individual licenses.
