Sightings for Tuesday, January 6

The XANTHUS HUMMINGBIRD was seen again today at 221 2nd Street in Gibsons.
A CLARK'S GREBE was on the Middle Arm of the Fraser River between the
breakwater and the Coast Guard station. The WESTERN TANAGER was reported
from North Burnaby. Call 298-5490 for details.

Sightings for Monday, January 5

A GYRFALCON was at 50th Ave. in Langley. Six COMMON MURRES, 4 ANCIENT
MURRALETS and 2 MARBLED MURRALETS were seen in flight from the end of the
Iona South Jetty. A NORTHERN SHRIKE was on Ferguson Rd, Sea Island. A
local birder working on his year list saw 2 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE at
the south end of the Second Narrows Bridge, the WESTERN TANAGER in North
Burnaby, 4 AMERICAN AVOCETS at the mouth of the Serpentine River, a
LONG-BILLED CURLEW at Blackie Spit and an EARED GREBE at the White Rock
Pier.

A HARRIS' SPARROW was towards the end of 40th Ave, about 300 meters east of
the 3 silos.

In a late report from Sunday, 9 LEAST SANDPIPERS and 2 WESTERN SANDPIPERS
were in a flock of several thousand DUNLIN at Blackie Spit.

Sightings for Sunday January 4

The XANTHUS' HUMMINGBIRD continues to be seen in Gibsons at 221 2nd street.
Directions to this location will be included each week on Thursday's
update. Fourteen LEAST SANDPIPERS were at Blackie Spit and a ROCK
SANDPIPER and YELLOW-BILLED LOON were at Crescent Beach. A HUTTON'S VIREO
was at Reifel. The immature HARRIS' SPARROW was seen again today at the
Stone Bridge in Stanley Park. An immature WESTERN TANAGER was seen for the
eighteenth consecutive day in a yard in N Burnaby. For details, please
