I'm using Outlook Express and have an address book entry for Tweeters. I've
set the default for this entry to "Send E-mail using plain text only"

I don't know if this will solve Tully's problem; I'm not sure if my address
book entry for Tweeters gets used when I reply to a post so the option may
not be used when I respond. The option is in effect when I oroginate a post
to Tweeters.

Tully, with the new default for Tweeters, you will get two copies of this
message. Can you let me know if there is any difference in them. I've
deliberately included a URL to see what the imact may be.
