Greetings fellow birders,

Walked Green Lake this (Saturday) morning. 30 degrees F, but much colder due
to wind chill, strong N wind. Gorgeous!
All the familiar birds including two Bald Eagles, circling overhead as I
walked down to the lake from my house.
At 9:10 an immature, large, Peregrine Falcon came zooming by from the island
towards the Wading Pool belly almost touching the water. The ducks and coots
wisely didn't fly up but did scurry out of the way. The falcon continued
north in between houses after pulling up just enough to clear traffic on the
road.
Wheels of Northern Shovelers were working the lee shore, adjacent wheels (20
birds in one, 50 in the other) going in opposite directions with birds
peeling off one wheel and joining the other. A bit like a square dance.
Two male Eurasian Wigeons still with the 300+ American Wigeons in the
general area of the Community Center.
Lots of Double-crested Cormorants and Common Mergansers still working the
fish in the reeds. Fewer Great Blue Herons than ten days ago.
Noticed one crow with a colorful array of bands on the field just south of
the Community Center (around 8 AM). Left leg USFWS "Avis" band on top, green
below. Right leg white band on top, dark blue below.
Checked past issues of WOS News, didn't find a mention of banded crows.
Anyone able to inform me where to report this?

Thanks,

Martin Muller, Seattle
