Tweets --

In reading Michael Price's opinions/suggestions for running/posting the
Vancouver BC RBA he states

> Posting the Vancouver BC (perhaps tiresome to keep doing this, I
>know, but this constant iteration of 'BC' is necessary for most Tweetsters,
>as an unspecified Vancouver automatically means Vancouver WA: this is why I
>have always included it)

In an effort to inject a tinge of humor (not to diminish the value of the
RBA discussion), I'd like to disagree with this one. Thank you, Michael and
anyone else, for inserting the "BC" modifier. Very considerate of you. But
I'm not sure the exclusion of it automatically means the Vancouver located
here in Washington. I think it's the other way around! Speaking as one who
lived there for a time, I found that --almost without exception-- telling
someone I was from Vancouver would elicit an interested, "Oh, B.C.?" This
assumption was made even by people living across the river in Portland, who
might have been expected to think otherwise. Vancouver, B.C. has more
influence than those of you north of the border might realize. So much so,
that the promoters of the Other Vancouver have dealt with the identity
crisis by making signs that welcome visitors to the city limits of
"Vancouver, USA."
