I've only seen two in WA since Nov 1. One at Port Ludlow on the Port
Gamble Xmas Count on 12-20 and one off Ediz Hook in Port Angeles on 1-10. The
one at Ediz Hook was my first ever at that location. The area where they occur
regularly in the winter locally (in small numbers) is Sequim Bay and the
Strait immediately north of the bay's outfall. I can't immediately find Bob
Boekelheide's summary of our Xmas Count but I think the tally was 15 which was
our highest ever (some duplication could have occurred and there is always
the chance that some were misidentified). Why are you interested in Eared
Grebes?
