This is the Lower Columbia Basin Audubon Society Bird Alert for January 5,

On December 26, Bob Gerding (sp?) observed 3 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE on
the McNary National Wildlife Refuge plus a goose which appeared to be a
White-fronted/Canada goose hybrid.

An adult BALD EAGLE was seen by Duane Faletti on December 27, just east of
the West Richland bridge (Van Giesen street).

Also on December 27, Mike and MerryLynn Denny found a RUSTY BLACKBIRD at
Madame Dorian Park at Wallula Junction.

A lone PINE SISKIN joined the American Goldfinches at my (Bob Woodley's)
thistle feeder on December 28.

Cameron Lawback reported a PEREGRINE FALCON in the vicinity of the Highway
395 entrance to Canyon Lakes (Golf course) in Kennewick on January 1.

Perhaps the same PEREGRINE was observed by Craig Corder and Judy Stevens
atop the grain elevator near the Railroad bridge in Kennewick on January 1.

Craig and Judy also reported that the GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE and
EURASIAN WIGEON were still present in Two Rivers Park on 1/1 and they found
an immature HARRIS' SPARROW along the park nature trail. They also
discovered 2 GREATER YELLOWLEGS in the lagoon near Clover Island.

On the evening of January 1, Bill and Nancy LaFramboise observed a
BURROWING OWL in the vegetation in the middle of the Tri-Cities Airport
parking lot and they reported that the 2 CATTLE EGRET along Shockley Road
(off Keene Road in Richland) were still present as of January 3.
