To put this sighting in context, this is a First Canadian record of Great
Knot Calidris tenuirostris and only the second time it's come further south
than Alaska, where it is very rare at best of times, which makes it almost
rare as Dusky Thrush Turdus naumanni, rarer than Siberian Accentor Prunella
montanella.

Considering that a Red Knot C. canutus, usually an uncommon but regular
migrant in Vancouver BC but almost as rare in winter, is also present
constitutes some sort of record for double-barrelled rarity.
