On a roll, hot off the block from the Coulan Park White-fronted Geese, I
zipped over for the WESTERN SCRUB JAYS -- and found them pronto as advertised.
Actually someone is feeding the pigeons (Rock Doves), House Sparrows, and
Starlings, in the front yard of the house on the corner of 35th Ave. SW and SW
105th (one block north) to which the jays come and go. Otherwise, they are
likely to be found within a one or two-block radius of this intersection.
Watch for them on overhead wires, tree, shrub, and roof tops, and listen for
their loud distinctive scold notes. I just hate neighborhood birding so. So,
just melt into the neighborhood and be as quiet and impossibly inconspicuous
as possible as a stranger there with binoculars slung around your neck peering
into peoples yards.
