Sightings for Friday, January 16

The COMMON EIDER was seen at the foot off Cardero Street off Sunset Beach
in Vancouver. The immature HARRIS' SPARROW was at the stone bridge in
Stanley Park and a REDHEAD was with CANVASBACKS on Lost Lagoon.

The Great Knot sighting has been confirmed but the bird has not been
relocated since it was first seen on January 12.

Sightings for Thursday, January 15

The YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER was seen at 1773 El Verano on Gabriola Island
for the fourth consecutive day. The bird was only seen twice during the
day at 8:45 and 4:20. To reach this location, follow South road for
several km after leaving the ferry and then turn onto El Verano.

A YELLOW-BILLED LOON and ROCK SANDPIPER were at the foot of Sullivan in
Crescent Beach and two female REDHEADS were at Iona. The COMMON EIDER was
in a large flock of scoters in English Bay.

The Xantus' Hummingbird continues to be seen at 221 2nd street in Gibsons.
To reach this location, take the Langdale ferry from Horseshoe Bay. At
Langdale follow highway 101 south to Gibsons and drive through the town.
Turn left on Pratt, which is the first intersection after passing a Tim
Horton's and Wendys. Drive to the end of Pratt, turn right on Gower Point
Road then turn right on 2nd St and drive up the hill. The house is second
on the left and has a sawhorse at the end of the drive. Birders may walk
up the drive and view the hummingbird over a white picket fence. If you
see the bird, please give us a call.

Sightings for Wednesday, January 14

The YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER was seen on Gabriola Island.

The immature HARRIS' SPARROW was at the stone bridge in Stanley Park and a
REDHEAD was with CANVASBACKS on Lost Lagoon. In late reports, the WESTERN
TANAGER was seen in North Burnaby on January 13 and a possible LOGGERHEAD
SHRIKE was seen at Foreshore Park in Burnaby on Sunday afternoon.
