Hi All--

Yesterday I visited some friends on Vashon Island, and we walked the
nearby beach. In a salt marsh next to the beach there were 22 brant.

Doesn't this seem an odd time for brant to be in the Puget Sound?
Any thoughts?

I don't know the name of the beach, but it was on the east side,
probably about mid-island, and the beach had a radio tower on it. The
birds may have been brownish which would indicate juvenile according to
my National Geo.
