Took some east Washingtonians to Luhr Beach to look across at Nisqually
Delta ----- a couple of hundred Brant were present inspite of the hunting
taking place, also a coule of juvenile Bald Eagles flushing everything and
the usual other birds and small group of 8-10 Band-tailed Pigeons about six
blocks from the beach.

The hunters were taking Lesser Scaup, Wigeon, Mallards. The folks keeping
records also mentioned that one of the Scaup seen earlier did not have
green or blue iridescence but a dark red. We did not see the bird and
their other comments were rather vague. One of the hunters had asked them
if the Brants were large ducks!! There has also been an otter present --
we had seen it about a week ago on the shore and the talliers (tallyers??)
said that it had been there just prior to arrival.
