Under the heading of things I've never seen before, a TOWNSEND'S WARBLER
is coming to the hummingbird feeder on 6th and exchange in Astoria. At
least one of the 3 regular ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRDS was there today, as well.

Andrew Emlen reported an OLDSQUAW (Calithumpian Duck) near the Maritime
Museum on Friday. An Oldsquaw (presumeably the sam one was with scaup at
the end of 10th street this morning. A bird I am inclined to call a
GLAUCOUSxGLAUCOUS-WINGED GULL was at the Uniontown Park overlook underneath
the Columbia River Bridge on Saturday.

I made a run of Sunset Beach on Saturday morning. A GLAUCOUS GULL, 800 DUNLIN,
500 SANDERLINGS, 9 dead NORTHERN FULMAR and 3 dead CASSIN'S AUKLETS were the
most interesting things seen. RAVENS seem to prefer dead auklets to dead
fulmars.

A BRANT and a EURASIAN WIGEON were in the flooded pasture south of the
fairgrounds (Walluski River) along with about 500 CANADA GEESE, 300 AMERICAN
WIGEON, KILLDEER, LEAST SANDPIPERS, and assorted puddle ducks. Does anybody
know when goose season ends?
