Ruth and tweeters,

Hopefully this isn't old news.

In answer to your question, the Sequim-Dungeness CBC had 8 Hutton's
Vireos (about average for the last 15 years) and 15 Townsend's Warblers
(a record number -- the old record was 11 in 1988).

We had record numbers of many passerines this year, partly because of
good coverage of habitat, but also because it seems more birds are
staying further north or perhaps first year birds have had good survival.
Other passerines setting record totals this year on our count (since
1975) included Bushtit, Bewick's and Winter Wren, Hermit Thrush,
Orange-cr. Warbler, Spotted Towhee, and W. Meadowlark.
