Howdy Birders, Yesterday, Jan 17, we birded the south slope of
Rattlesnake Mtn. In the AM it was so windy we couldn't hold binocs
steady if we left the car. We spent all morning sifting through at least
15,000 Horned Larks before we finally found one SNOW BUNTING.
DeLorme p 38, A2. Most of the snow had melted. Also saw a couple
of PRAIRIE FALCONS.
In the PM, the wind dropped & we found a MERLIN in Prosser and 4
LEAST SANDPIPERS a few miles NE of Prosser. There were a few
BARROWS GOLDENEYE that the killers had somehow missed.
(Yakima River).
Good Birding,
