Jerry,
I would definitely recommend taking Hwy 112 (just west of PA) and a
trip to the Salt Creek Recreation Area on Crescent Bay (Delorme Altas pg
93). It should be good for Harlequin Duck, Oldsquaw, all 3 Scoters,
Red-necked Grebe, Red-throated Loon, and if the tides are right Black
Turnstone and Black Oystercatcher. Plus ??? bonus species. Stay on 112 to
Clallum Bay and try the bay area at Sieku. There are numerous
possibilities along the water going out to Neah Bay.
I am envious I wandered around southern Arizona this spring looking
for and not seeing the Caracara, so I hope that it stays around for at
least another month. Gotta go to BC later this month for the Xantus and
more.
I get over your way regularly and hope to get a chance to do some
birding over there with you maybe later this year (I know that I will be
there in September and maybe May).
