Today was a little slower at Vancouver Lake and the Lower River portion of
Ridgefield. Rain and darkness between 345 and 430 made viewing hard.

Still many Tundra Swans and ducks around. Geese were far less viewable
today as were cranes (I may have seen 100 geese--the conditions didn't
making viewing very conducive).

On the Lake were still 6 Western Grebes, a red-necked Grebe, and a LOON
that was a long way away. If i had to call it a species, I would have
called it a Pacific, but it was too far away and too dark. The bird
virtually disappeared when I zoomed the scope to 45x.

BTW, on Monday, there were two White-fronted Geese in with the Canadas.
If you are out and about either on Ridgefield or Sauvie Island, keep an
eye out for the immature Emperor. It could be on either side of the river
as many geese go back and forth.
