Hello out there,

I'm new at the reporting game, but not new to birding. On Saturday
1/17/98, I saw an American Oystercatcher flying low over the Snohomish
estuary - just west of the I-5 bridge. There was no doubt about this
siting - it flew within 10 yards of my canoe in good late afternoon light
(it flew towards me heading west).
Sorry this is so damn late, but I am a busy plant ecology graduate student
whose interest in birding has taken a necessary nose dive over the past
couple years.
