Subject: A Guide Question

Please consider this scenario carefully and respond to me directly, not
to Tweeters or OBOL. My thanks in advance.

You are in a birding contest in our region where you are trying to
identify as many
birds as possible within 24 hours. The twist to the contest is that you
will be allowed to take ONLY one field guide with you for purposes of
helping you identify birds in the field.

What guide do you take into the field with you and why?

The _why_ here is very important--it's useful to just know the title, but
for my purposes, some explanation is appreciated.

Anyone quoted will have the great pleasure of being footnoted.

Thanks
Ray K
