Jack Bowling queried the wintering Yellow-rumped Warblers seen sprinkled
around in the Lower Crab Creek (Grant Co) area on January 20 as possibly being
"Myrtle" vs "Audubon's". Thank heavens Andy Stepniewski replied with his
excellent post that these 'interior' birds are most likely Audubon's.
Actually, I didn't really notice and kind of glanced over them as I've never
been very confident at my ability to distinguish the two unless the winter
plumaged birds show obvious yellowish throats for 'Audubon's' or are adult
white-throated 'Myrtle'. Winter plumaged immature Yellow-rumped are otherwise
an ID problem for me that I have not taken the time to seriously study.

On that note, and I forgot to mention in yesterday's post from Asotin Co, but
10 Yellow-rumped Warblers, all 'Audubon's' as best I could tell 9several with
'yellow' throats) were seen down along the Snake and Grand Ronde Rivers, south
of Clarkston on January 22. Two encounters, a single and a flock of 9.
