Sightings for Saturday, January 24

The XANTUS' HUMMINGBIRD was seen at 221 2nd street in Gibsons today. If
you plan to travel to Gibsons to see the hummingbird, note that you will
need to catch the 1:15 ferry Horseshoe Bay. If you catch the 3:15 ferry,
it will be dark when you arrive in Gibsons. Also the homeowners have
requested that, as the evenings start to get longer, birders do not visit
in the evening.

Unfortunately there is bad news about the YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER. The
homeowners at 1773 El Verano on Gabriola Island saw a hawk take the bird
today. All that's left are a few feathers.

In local sightings, a female Tufted Duck was at the eastern end of Lost
Lagoon in Stanley Park and the Yellow-billed loon was at the foot of
Beecher St in Crescent beach. An Eared Grebe was seen from Lighthouse
marine park in Point Roberts and a Barn owl was at Reifel in Delta.

A Crested Mynah was at 77th and Oak in Vancouver
