A brief report of interest primarily to eastside WA and Idaho Birders:

Saturday 1/24/98

Double-crested Cormorant: Clearwater R. near the grain elevators in
Lewiston, ID, it was just east of the big mixed duck flock (Barrow's
Goledeneye etc.) Idaho Delorme p. 54 A1

Sunday 1/25/98

Ross' Goose: a single bird about 5 miles west of Orofino,ID at a couple of
small ponds adjacent to the 'Hidden Village Mobile Home Park' off of Route
12. It was associating with a mixed group of wild and domestic geese and
ducks, particularly a group of domestic geese. I don't think this is unusual
for a wayward Ross' Goose. Idaho Delorme p. 54 (probably) A3 along the
Clearwater R.

Canyon Wren: a couple of very cooperative individuals at the Big Eddy Marina
near Dvorshak Dam, Idaho Delorme 58 C-3.

Also about 7 Bald Eagles along the Clearwater R. in this area.
