Continuing with discussion on vagrancy in oystercatchers, I offer the
following tidbits for consideration:

I checked out Paulson's SHOREBIRDS OF THE PACIFIC NW to see what oddball
records for the two species noted in the northeastern Pacific region.

An American Oystercatcher showed up at Fruitland Idaho 19 April 1981.
Paulson surmises this individual was a first year bird from the Mexican
Pacific-coast population.

A Black Oystercatcher was noted on the dam at Bumping Lake in the Cascades
west of Yakima 8 January 1947.
