Twelve birders showed up for our 4th Monday morning hotspots field trip. We
birderd from 0930-1200 starting at the intersection of Woodinville-Duvall and
W. Snoq. Valley Roads and going down to Sikes L. We had a total of 41
species. About 5-6 of us saw a White-throated Sparrow, only 3-4 saw the Clay-
colored Sparrow, along with a lot of Song and Golden-crowned and a few White-
crowned and Lincoln's Sparrows. Other sightings of note included:

5-6 Bald Eagles (mature & immature)
2 Trumpeter Swan
1 Eurasian Wigeon among hundreds of American Wigeon
1 white-cheeked AMWI
1 No. Harrier
5-6 Red-tailed Hawks
1 Spotted Sandpiper
20-30 Dunlin
1 No. Shrike
1 Hairy Woodpecker
10-20 Brown-headed Cowbird

And two river otter playing around and just having fun in the grass along the
shore of Sikes Lake. To top the day off, after I got home, a male Pileated
Woodpecker showed up at our peanut butter suet feeder. Last week I saw the
female so hopefully they are a pair that will nest in the neighborhood.
