Tweeters,

Regarding the rare and irregular sightings of Ringed Teal in the Sedro
Woolley area:

A male and female were sighted about four miles east of Sedro Woolley July
26, 1997 by Herb Sargo and Dick McNeely. We called a Sedro Woolley
waterfowl breeder tonight; he said he had sold Ringed Teal to a lady who
lives very near where the birds were sighted last summer. He remembered
that she told him that some of them had escaped through an open gate. The
breeder said that this South American species is very tame.
