Tweets,

Awoke last night to Saw-whet calls. Got up, pulled on sweats and
slippers, got a flashlight and binoc's and stepped onto the back deck.
I was able to call the owl in to less than 15 feet from where I was
standing. Nice viewing. We had a nice conversation going when from
behind me I heard a booming Great Horned call - she was sitting on my
roof about 30' behind me - after that dead silence from the Saw-whet and
she moved deep into a 30' red cedar. Great Horned flew off after about 2
minutes, but I couldn't get the Saw-whet to talk again.

If you have to get up and do something at 1:15 I guess this is about as
good as it gets.
