Hello Tweets,

Today I briefly walked the north part of the S.Port Orchard Airport along
Lider Rd. in Kitsap Co., where 18 MOUNTAIN QUAIL were observed in the sotch
broom bordered by salal and second-growth Douglas Fir and alder thickets.
This general location has been productive in producing this species in past
years, but the birds move around a lot, so a generous walk is encouraged of
the perimeter of the airport, mainly in the western and northern sections.
Other notable species at this location included: 1 N.Shrike, and 1
H.Woodpecker. On my way back home to Tacoma, I stopped at Purdy and
observed 3 EARED GREBES, a fairly good bird for Pierce Co., but usually
occur here upon an extensive search.
