My trusty Geo Metro won't be coming home again. It was rear-ended and
totaled the other night. I'm now in the market for a vehicle that is better
suited for seeking out wildlife.

Although my Metro was reliable, I feared its suspension was a little fragile
for attempting some of the poorer roads I came across while chasing after
birds, and I often turned back. So I had been thinking about replacing it,
but later rather than sooner! I don't really think I need a big 'ol 4x4, but
I'm wondering if some of you would mind sharing what you drive, where and
how you drive it, its performance under bad road conditions, and your
recommendations. I'm probably looking in the $12,000-$16,000 range for a new
vehicle.

Thanks,
