Hello Tweets,

My mother and I birded the Ocean Shores area, starting at Bowerman Basin
where we observed the 2 AM.WHITE PELICANS on the mudflats, visible from SR
109. At Ocaen Shores on the game range several notable species were present
during our visit between 1 and 2pm including: 42 PACIFIC LOONS, 5
R.T.LOONS, 1 GR.SCAUP, 2 SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS, 200 W.SANDPIPERS, 14
L.SANDPIPERS, 2 SANDERLINGS, 1 GR.YELLOWLEGS, 1 WHIMBREL, 1 T.VULTURE and 1
early LONG-BILLED CURLEW that was observed flying south towards Westport.
The west end of the game range below the O.S.S.T.P. produced 300 HEERMANN'S
GULLS and 15 BROWN PELICANS with several more offshore in Grays Harbor, and
the O.S.Jetty was not too productive, but 6 SOOTY SHEARWATERS, 400+
C.MURRES, lesser numbers of R.AUKLETS flew north from the jetty. 7 BRANDT'S
CORMORANTS and 1 male BLACK SCOTER were present on in and around the jetty.
The remainder of Ocean Shores was very slow, as far as shorebird migration.
