Dear tweeters,

Those peregrines are terrific fliers. You can stand in the center of
Georgetown and watch those birds work the updraft. It's a great place to
get airborne and your neck will ache before the bird moves into its soar.
After that I expect it heads over to Beacon Hill and chases starlings in
the greenbelt.

That subject line is your only warning. I want you to think about this. I
especially want you people who made it possible for two Peregrines to nest
in downtown Seattle to think about this, in spite of my earlier remarks
about the god thing and purple martins. Today I am writing to you about the
Boeing Field expansion 800 feet north into the Georgetown neighborhood.
This is a lovely neighborhood, and this is where those peregrines hang out.
Those 800 feet north into the Georgetown neighborhood cut right into
peregrine territory and I would say those 800 feet of Boeing field will
fuck the peregrine up. I want you to think about this 800 feet and how
many more cargo jets it will bring into Boeing field. And then I want you
to join your Georgetown neighbors in protest against this airport
expansion.

But I know you must be persuaded. So I have prepared a short list of
actions for you. All of these actions will help you collect the data you
need to make an informed decision.

Read "Boeing Field expansion plan riles neighbors" in today's Seattle
Times. Go out and buy a copy if you don't have one. You will find it in the
local section, B3. This is not the first story about the Boeing Field
expansion but Georgetown neighborhood opposition has been underreported in
the paper-based media of this town aka The Big Four aka The Times, the P-I,
The Stranger, The Weekly. Underreported. Listen up, people, one story is
not a story.

Meet your Georgetown neighbors. It's easier than you think. They host a
garden tour in July. Talk to them about the Boeing Field expansion. Look
for the Georgetown Garden Tour announcement in the Sunday Times, Home and
Real Estate.

Email your city council people. Demand a real reply and real attention to
this issue. Some city council people like to vacation around this time. Ask
each council member to attend the July 13 City Council meeting

Ask The Big Four now for some REAL STORIES about REAL PEOPLE who live in
REAL NEIGHBORHOODS by REAL WRITERS.

Go to the July 13 City Council meeting. Tell your Georgetown neighbors why
you are there. Better yet, tell the City Council why you are there.

Talk to the Metropolitan King County Council. They have to listen to you.
You're a taxpayer and a voter. The Georgetown man on the Council is Dwight
Pelz.

OK.
