I'll admit, I'm guilty of colorful metaphores, myself. However, in this
instance I really would have preferred some of the phrasing to be less
colorful. The reality is that some people are offending by such
language and we should be considerate of all list members. Sort of like
not smoking in a public place where the smoke may be harmful/offensive
to others.

Seems like the bird life is returning to normal after last night's
revelry. Gulls are a little more whiny than usual. About 20 minutes
ago, the Purple Martins poked their heads out of the nest box looking
around as if to see if the coast was clear. Terns were up and at it way
before light. The private fireworks displays on the North shore of
Commencement Bay almost rivaled the one in Tacoma, only it starts way
earlier. Poor birds seemingly hunker down and wait out the invasion.
