another name that could be included in the "ban that word" list
is "tit." even my college students looked rather, um, surprised
when i brazenly and loudly said that word in their presence for
the first time. and the word "bushtit" brought on a giggling fit
(in one case) and made everyone's eyebrows shoot up into their
hairlines.
