Greetings Everyone,
Michael Price mentioned Teen Bird Chat as a resource for young
birders. As one of its most active posters, I feel somewhat committed to
comment. Teen Bird Chat is a great way to get involved in the youth
birding scene. Most if not all of the most active kids in the country
subscribe(The ones I've heard of at least). Most of its member are
13-early 20's, although the majority of postings are from 15-18 year
olds. Level of discussion is somewhere between Tweeters, Joe Morlan's
Web Page, and ID Frontiers, although there are exceptions. Only young
people may subscribe. Everyone else must read it on Chuck William's sight
for which Michael gave the URL for. Currently there are 56 people on
the list. If your a youth birder reading this now, then I highly
encourage you to subscribe. You need permission to subscribe so send a
letter with your name, age, and location to Teenbirdinfo at nbhc.com The
list owner is in Colorado now doing some bird stuff right now, but he
should return soon. I'm not sure if you can be subscribed with him away.
We do a lot of mystery birds that are usually mediocre in difficulty,
although some are tougher then others, but the one going right now is
fairly basic. Hopefully all of you with kids who are at least semi
interested will encourage them to subscribe and contribute to the group.
Depending on the time of year there are between 0-10 messages per day.

To Subscribe: Name, Age, and location to: Teenbirdinfo at nbhc.com
