We have had Calliope hummingbirds at our feeder on a regular basis and 3
days ago a male Black-chinned hummingbird showed up at the feeder and
shows up in the morning and in the evening.

The elevation at our home is about 1500 ft. and the weather has been
sunny and hot. I was told that Black-chinned are usually at higher
elevations and only come down if it is cold and wet at higher
elevations.

If this is true, why is it here? If the above statement is not true, I
guess it just decided to pay us a visit. :-)
