This is in response to Bill Smith and his "most important member of the
family ... Dad"

I really would just prefer to write about "bird stuff" but that comment
really pushed my buttons.

I hate to tell you this, Bill, but the most important member of the family
is often Mom, Sis or Grandma. A lot of us, either by choice or
happenstance, are the most important members of our families. Also, women
have been on the internet for lo, these many years! I hate the whole
Tweeter's battle over what language is proper to use on the internet and
what's not. But women don't need "their" men to clean up the airwaves for
them, censor what they read, or do their thinking for them. Let's all just
handle this as we see fit and hope the argument will go to private avenues
and let Tweeters handle the birding (I say as I e-mail this non-birding
message).
