The female XANTUS' HUMMINGBIRD continues to be seen daily in Gibsons. The
homeowner requests that birders phone ahead to arrange a time to visit and

Sightings for Thursday, July 9:
A TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE was seen at Blackie Spit in trees bordering the east
side of Farm Slough from the wide dike path that runs along the side of
Dunsmuir Garden.

In a late report for Wednesday a GOLDEN PLOVER of undetermined species was
seen in front of the mansion west of 96th Street in Delta.

Out of town in Washington State a YELLOW-BILLED LOON was seen on the west
side of Whidbey Island and a first record TRICOLOURED BLACKBIRD was found
near Soap Lake. For directions to these 2 sites please call the Washington

Wednesday, July 8:
3 RED CROSSBILLS were seen on the Poco Trail in Coquitlam.

Tuesday, July 7:
1 PILEATED WOODPECKER was at 224th Street in Langley.

2 PURPLE MARTINS were at Crescent Beach.

Monday, July 6:
Beaver Lake in Stanley Park had a SORA, 2 BARRED OWLS and a PILEATED
WOODPECKER.

50 BLACK SWIFTS were seen north of Serpentine Fen in Surrey.

A COOPER'S HAWK was seen feeding two young at Royal Crescent in North
Vancouver.
