the South Jetty of the Columbia River, Clatsop Co., OR
12 July 1998 0900hr to 1000hr

Wind S 10; Temp 55F


Method: 60 minute station count at 100m west of "3 rocks" on
SJCR using 20x60 Bushnell spotting scope and 8x50 Bushnell
binoculars. Birds were sorted as to flyby, sitting on beach, sitting
on ocean or sitting on river.

Notes: Six hummingbirds (most probably RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRDS) flew by
heading inland along the jetty during the hour I think this qualifies
as a movement. A single ELEGANT TERN was sitting in the flock of
loafing CASPIAN TERNS.
