I located a closer viewing area for the Tri-colored BB, I guess
I am getting to old to make an identification at a 1000 yards,
let alone seeing them ! Just before the turnoff to the previously
described viewing area is the exit off of Highway 28 to Wilson
Creek.Turn left here and go to the stop sign, turn right onto
Wilson Creek Road and follow into Wilson Creek, this road
becomes Railroad St.in town, go to Fourth St. and turn right,
go to Maple St. and turn left, cross the bridge and turn right.
go about a mile to 23 N.E and turn right.Follow the gravel
road to the end, about a mile and a half, at about .7 miles
you will make a left turn, do not cross over the RR tracks.
There is a small pullover at the end of the road, park here
and walk along the RR tracks about 100 feet. The Tri-colored
BB's are in the field to the south along with Brewers and
Yellow-headed BB's.All three species fly from the cattail
marsh to this location and back to the marsh. A scope
is still required as the distance is about 100 yards to the
barbed wire fence that they use.Great looks on the fence and
on the ground at the waters edge, also in this area are coots
with young,GBH, and Black-crowned Night Heron's.

Good Luck
