Apparently Bobwhites have been raised by aviculturists on the Olympic
Peninsula for some time. I have heard their unmistakable call around
Sequim and Port Angeles, especially near aviaries, of which there are
several in our area.

The question remains whether they have established themselves as a wild
breeding species. The general consensus is that they have not, but
perhaps there is a number of escapees over the years that maintain the
population. If you discover the origin of the birds around Port Townsend
(especially if they are wild breeders), please let us know.
