Hello Tweeters,
Dan Victor was so nice to scanning my Photos from our trip to Okanogan the
19th to the 27th.This trip we been taken many times, right when school is
out, and befor all the Birds pairing up.We had 169 species of birds, but we
always taken our time, this is not a marathon chase, but a leisurely
vacation, with camping cooking good food, and enjoy nature taken or time.
Even going to Okanogan 7 time we still having not seeing everything.
The Great gray Owls was observed at Havilla 2 Adults and 3 young. We was
surprised this Young Owls was so active flying all over the place, and
maken all kind of noises. So we found this Owls real easyLast year it was
differend. Sad to say, there was only one Owlett. The story we heard was:
the Raven was eating the young (not confirmed) there are lots of Raven in
the area.

In the vicinity where we had the Owls, we found also the Pileated
Woodpeccker nest feeding this huge baby what made a racked full of noises.
We findly found out where this noise was comming from.
right in the next tree close by the Williamson's Sapsucker also had a nest,
feeding clockwise female and male together. We had all the Woodpecker in the
State without one the ACORN.We could not believe how many Red-naped we saw
incredible. I only took photos where the opportunithy was right.

The Common Loon with 2 young(only 1 shoved in photo) was on Boneparte lake,
also 1 Common Loon with 2 young on Lost Lake.

The Three-toed Woodpecker on the first burn from Long Swamp( about 2 miles)
We had 2 pair feeding there young.Further up the road we had the Spruce
Grouse.

The Common Goldeneye and the Barrow's Goldeneye we had on Little Beaver
Lake.Since there was such discussion was going on this birds are not
breeders in Washington. We had this Common Goldeneye breeding there for
three years. Which photos i sent for records. We also have a Buffelhed for
the second year on Boneparte boyscaut camp pond with young, what is more
rare to see.
Comming back to the Common Goldeneye, we observed a territoral behavier
between both the Common and the Barrow's. I was busy chasing after
Dragonflies Patrick all the suddeny yelled look look what are the ducks are
duing. All what i saw was a stream of water splashen. The Common was going
to the left side where the Barrow's was with her brood.Than all the sudden
the Common flew alone without her young back to the right-side of the pond,
all disturbed. The young Common Gooldeneye stayed close together and waited
to the Adult after a while came and picked them up. All was swimming
peacefull back to the right-side where there belong. My Son Patrick will
never mention such an episode.

The White-headed Woodpecker we had in two places. One pair on Cameron Lake
Road, where you see Pandarosa Pine and 4 on Rimrock Lake close to White
Pass. There where the female with 2 young. The male was by himself. This
sighting would indicate there would be sighted sometime in the future on
the west side around Randle or Packwood area. We was trilled over this
sightings. Patrick keep saying i hear a White-headed go look( he was soaken
his tired feet) to an hour later as we birded some more in the evening, we
did find this Birds,

The Blue Grouse we also found on CameronLake road, what we misidentified
original as a Sharp-tailed Grouse. We have two birds here not so good
photo of a juvenile bird very light the photo here is the Adult which
Patrick din't see.My mistake, click-click-click dont look to the Bird
disappear.

The Two Barred Owls where in Loop-Loop Campside, What is close to winthrop.
There are always there most Tame and friendly, this time there was not to
friendly. One of the Owls jumped on my head, we did not stay long there,
also the weather was bad. This Owl behavier is due to comming to close to
there nest-side ( without we din;t know ) there usual having there youg by
that time. Most time the youg sitting in trees that's ok. But this time we
din't see any young Owls, so this is wy there are so protective.

And last the two young Spotted Owls. This location is secret and the Owl is
protected. The female was sitting close by and never moved. Presuming the
male was hunting for food.

I din't take this many Bird-photos this time, but i took 10 rolls of
Dragonflies what took a long time to do.
If you don't hear anything i am out there finding new Dragonflies. Maybe in
the future i will put them on to the Gallery< if it is OK with Dan Victor.
I this got back from a 769 miles driving with an expert in Dragonflies
Kris Baker which i found to my AD on tweeters. How lucky i been knowing
Dennis who helped me with this hobby , also Dennis friend Dave Nunnallee
who did this already for three years and helping Dennis with New species
and county Records, I found already two county Records. One for Gays Harbor
and last week Kris andi found One the most wanted for me THe black
Saddlebags,Tramea lacerta in Okanogan, and where? CAMERON LAKE ROAD
