At the Shilshole Bay Beach Club Public Beach (near the Ballard Locks, in
between Ray's Boathouse and Golden Gardens) this morning were there was
an unusually diverse group of gulls. In the my scope at one time, only
about 30 yards from me, were a Glaucous-winged, California, Mew,
Bonaparte's and Ring-billed Gull (all adults). It made for great
comparisons and would be a good place for gull beginners to hone their
skills. At the same place were 6+ Great Blue Herons, 5+ Pigeon
Guillemots and 6 Killdeer.

Also, last night (7/21) at the Montlake Fill saw 1 Common Snipe, 1
Spotted Sandpiper, 3 Least Sandpipers, 1 Killdeer, 5 Long-billed
Dowitchers and 1 Bullock's Oriole . For the complete Montlake Fill
