Dear Thais--many thanks for your reply. When we looked at our log over the
last 15+ years, we couldn't believe we didn't have a definite date, but we
knew that we had called you!! Thank goodness you have kept these records for
all these years! (I assume that you refer to Chris Chappell of Olympia who
sparked our original quest for information.) We have kept an on-a-bulletin-
board record of birds occurring here in our Graham yard since 1982. I'm sure
that Sally Hill has a really impressive list, too.

We wish you had been able to join us in eastern Washington--our views of the
White-headed Woodpeckers were a sight we'll always remember!

By the time you read this, I'm sure you'll have recovered from the visit of
the British birders and looking forward to your son's visit. By all means,
please keep in touch--there are not many of us old birds left!! Warm
regards, Murray and Betty.

P.S. We hope you will be enjoying your retirement. For heaven's sakes, let's
go to Trinidad/Tobago or Costa Rica or ????? YITF--Murray
