With this hot weather, my recirculating birdbath is a fascinating place!
Birds I rarely see in my yard are lined up on the adjacent Japanese maple tree
waiting their turn to either drink or bathe.

Some juveniles come and in their wet, disheveled, sometimes comical-looking
state, are a challenge to identify.

Some are just attracted by the sounds of the water and the activity but don't
partake.

I've seen Song Sparrows, BH Grosbeaks, R Hummers, Nuthatches, flocks of
Bushtits, Finches, Robins, Chickadees, Swainson's Thrush, Western Tanagers, GC
Kinglets, Steller Jays and Juncos so far this year. Previous years, I've had
some warblers, and a baby hawk, just sitting fat, dumb and happy in the bird
bath for a long time!
